Just a follow up for anyone interested. I decided to go with gotprint and made a smaller sample order from them. The final cards were a bit darker than I thought they would be (according to the images on my computer and on the graphic designers computer) but not bad at all. And the price and speed were tough to beat. I may try to send a lighter image for the next go around. But I will definitely be using them again.

PS I have heard their customer service is horrific. Just a heads up if anyone decides to go with them. I'm happy, but I didn't have to deal with customer service.

Have you ever considered doing your own? I use Avery Matte While Clean Edge Business Cards (item # 8875) for all my personal business cards. I have professional cards printed for my day job and really, other than the cost, you can't tell the difference. They are very easy to make using most programs including Word and Powerpoint. Just an alternative to consider.

I've used Vistaprint, and they turned out well, except I'm not really CRAZY about the way they do business.....if you order from them, they have one price for the product, say 250 business cards for $19.99 or whatever, then riiiiight before you checkout a page will come up saying that if you buy 500 business cards it'll be $29.99 ($10 less than if you had just originally bought 500). Once you know this trick, you can use it to your advantage and just start your checkout using the smallest quantity, and then use the 'last minute offers' to purchase up to the quantity you originally wanted at a much lower price.

The only complaint I had about them was that I had a black picture on my business card with a black background on my card (to match my website), and the black in the picture is a rich black (black + colors), but the rest of the card is just black ink, which doesn't look 'as black' as the background in the picture. I suspect I'd have this problem with just about anyone though, unless I could clarify I wanted rich black on the whole card. It's liveable though.
