Burlwood bike anyone?

There's a bicycle wheel builder names Velocity who has a whole new line of colored wheel rims that I've been drooling over recently, in particular - burlwood (how cool is that):

That's interesting stuff. The snake is just too much for me. There's a guy in town here that re-surfaced his entire chevy S10 with marine plywood. He covered over the bed so it's flat and put a spoiler on the back and an air intake on the hood. It looks ..well rediculous. Wish I had a photo. It's not that he did a bad job doing it, it just looks stupid in it's overall appearance.
