Bud Vase - odd shape

Well, someone has said that there are no mistakes, but just design opportunities. I had a couple bad goofs on this one, so I just kept going and tried something new. I figured even if I turned it down to a toothpick it still felt good to be on the lathe and making shavings.

This is Oregon Myrtle - maybe 6 inches tall. A small bud vase, likely for someone in the family - whoever likes the shape.

Interesting and well done piece - I think you did an exceptional job coping with your "design opportunities."

I like the shape. I don't think I would have ever thought to try something like that from the start, but now that I see the way it came out, it suggests all sorts of additional opportunities.
