I bought a new 2008 Honda Civic LX today for my 17 year old daughter. I will have to say I am really impressed with the car. My intentions were to purchase a new Toyota Corolla. So after making the trip down there only to find out they didn't even have the car or any like it on the lot they made it sound like they did. They were going to have to go find one from another dealer I started getting a little worked up. Then come price time they wouldn't budge from 400 below MSRP. So I left. I stopped at the Honda dealership on the way out of town and looked at the civics. Test drove 2 and decided to see what they would do. I ended up walking out the door 200 below invoice with 2.9% financing. My wife and daughter did not know I was going, so I had to call the wife to have someone bring her down to pick the car up. Deal made in less than 30 minutes. My daughter is thrilled as you can imagine. I won't let her drive it since I can't get insurance on it till tomorrow. Just thought I needed to share. I may be as excited for her as she is. I haven't had any sleep since 2:00 yesterday due to working last night. I just had to get this done today.

Believe it or not, but she was offered one. She actually used her head and said " I will be paying for my own gas after next year when I go to college. I would rather have a car with good gas mileage." Kind of shocked me, but yet made me think maybe I had actually taught her something.

I remember a story about a father buying his daughter a new car for her graduation. the father drove it home and hired a mechanic to completely take it apart. So on graduation day the father gives the keys to the daughter. and opens up the garage. And there on the floor was the daughters car in pieces. The daughter put the car together with the help of the mechanic and she has never been taken for then she needed repairs!

Just wait untill you get the call from the first dealership telling you that they worked out a deal if you would just come back in. Drive the new car up there and show them why your not buying a car from them.

For the last several cars I've bought it has come down to the dealership. There are always multiple comparable choices, but the deal comes down to how much the dealer wants it. I think you made a good choice.

Sometimes it comes down to whether the salesman wants to sell cars. Many moons ago, I was looking for a car. I had a car with a very nice radio in it. The radio had a *DIGITAL CLOCK* and a cassette player. It even received FM! (I said many moons :)) When I went to the dealership, I asked if the radio could be moved to may new car....
"Nope, no way"....

The second dealership, the salesman (Garth Ulum?) said "Sure, we will order the car with a radio in it so the speakers are installed. We will order a spare central panel where the radio goes, and then remove the installed radio and put your radio and panel in the car. No problem."

Guess where I bought the car???? Garth wanted to sell me a car.

I'd like a Viper SRT-10 roadster, but I guess I'll settle for a 08 Challenger in Orange. [:p]

I was trying to buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee for my daughter. We wanted a small loan on the car to help build her credit even though I told them I had the money to buy it outright. They told my wife they had several for us to look at. When I arrived, not a single one on the lot, and they didn't want to go to their "offsite storage lot" until they worked up the deal. I was livid, but my daughter wanted to wait, so I sat and fumed. I even had the salesman ask me what was wrong, and I told him flat out I wasn't happy. After a while, they said they couldn't work a loan with her on it, so we left.

Two days later I paid off our 1 year old Jeep Cherokee and less than a week later I stopped at the dodge lot and bought a 2002 Ram Quadcab 4x4 and gave the Cherokee to my daughter. The dealer called a couple days later asking if I still wanted the grand cherokee? Sorry, I went and bought a $35k truck instead. The Truck deal, took less than 1/2 an hour including the test drive.

As long as you're buying, I would like this Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir. If your nice to me I might even let you drive it :D

Geez, Mudder I can't even pronounce all that so you would probably end up with a plastic model and a tube of glue.

Dude,

You don't need to talk about it, just go to the Bugatti dealer with the picture I provided and pay for it! ;)
