i've been thinking of doing a few bottle stoppers lately and am wondering if there's a good way to do it without buying a screw chuck specifically for it...

i've got a screw chuck that came with my barracuda chuck, but the screw looks way bigger than the one that's on the end of the bottle stopper cone. so, obviously that won't work...

any ideas?

Drill a hole, smaller than you will ultimately need, use a wood dowel, (I use 5/16) held in place by your chuck (scroll or Jacobs) After turning, redrill the hole to proper dimension and proceed as you normally would.

Ed,
So this is only held on one end, by the dowel, if so then we would have to make sure that it just fits and is tight? TIA for your advice.[:)]
