Wish I had had these fine instructions when i first started bottle stoppers.

First thing i did was to empty a bottle of fine wine so I could make sure the stoppers fit [:)][8D][:p]

Oh yeah, one more thing... no, seriously. You'll need a tap the same size as the stopper threads. If you don't have a tap and die set and you get your bottle stoppers from BB at AS, he sells the taps for them. In fact, they are on sale until midnight tonight.

I would not say that you need a tap. They are nice and I do use one but they are not a neccesity. You can get by without the mandrel as well by useing a piece of 3/8ths all thread in a jacobs chuck or using a dowel or piece of wood as a jam chuck. I think it makes it a lot easier to have both these things though. In reality if you have a decent drill bit kit, and some basic lathe tools you can get by with just the stopper kit and some wood. If you do get a tap for the stopper blank I find auto parts stores usually carry taps much cheaper and well they are not the best quality they work fine on wood.
