Bottle stoppers?

I got a deal on some from WC along with a couple of pieces of Spectraply. Looking to turn one soon. Does the material look best when viewed as horizontal or vertical? Which way turns better? This will be my first experience with this. Or is it a matter of taste?

Could go both ways.... Had some short cut offs and some extra glue. Haven't tried putting the horizontal pieces on the bottom yet. Could be interesting also. Customers seem to like them.

Nice looking. I think you'll find different people like different effects. Maybe experiment and see what you like OP.

Thanks to all. So many ways to do it. Following Gregory's comment, I have a trainload of scraps and lots of glue to make some segmented blanks.
Going to try to get into the shop this week and keep the stress on my knee at a minimum. I think I have figured out a way to work from a stool.

That's a good thing, I can only work from a chair. Granted it's a wheelchair so it is a bit different.
