Are the stoppers from the link the same as AS's ? They are 2.00 cheaper

Nolan, they both are stainless steel, but the stoppers from A.S have a different sealing arrangement, the lesser expensive ones use 3 O rings to seal the bottle, and the A.S. units use a molded rubber seal. I've not used the ones from Carpe Lignum just the ones from A.S.

I use Ruth Niles (Carpe Lignum). They are SS and are shorter. I prefer that because it doesn't make the stoppers look top heavy, and, it goes in the fridge for white wine. She also does 2-3 different fittings so that if you do something like glass stoppers you can glue the SS to the glass and not have threads showing. When I changed over to Ruth's from the style that AS has I had both available. It was the short SS of Ruth's that went off the table.

I'm with Ruth. I use the Ruth Niles stoppers exclusivly now and LOVE the way they look and seal.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes and it seems like every time Ruth's stoppers are mentioned some start knocking them in favor of Bill's which is silly! So try a little test, buy one of Ruth's and one of Bill's, fill two wine bottles with water, cap them with the stoppers and turn them upside down. Then pick them up while still upside down and shake them and watch what happens. Then you will know which you would like to sell to repeat customers! :D

This is a gift for my mother-in-law so now I really know which one to get. Thanks George

I'd wondered about the rubber seal on the A.S. bottle stoppers, it would seem easier to replace an O ring rather than the custom molded seal on Bills stoppers, Think I'll try some of the lesser expensive ones, Thanks for the tip Eugene, glad Nolan asked about the difference.
