Bolivian Rosewood

This is Bolivian rosewood and I've used a blue cellulose for the threads and section.

I've used 13mm triple start threads for the cap and the overall length is around 140mm when closed.
The barrel is 15mm diameter at its widest. Nib is a Jowo no6.

Couple of questions, please ....
1) What is the finish ?
2) Is there any tubing insert (eg. brass), inside the length of the barrel and cap, to add reinforcing strength to the Bolivian Rosewood ?

Oh, one other question ... you say you used "blue cellulose for the threads and section."

Is it actually "cellulose" ? . Would acrylic acetate (the pen turners AA blank material) work equally well ?

1) The finish on this is oil and then hard wax. I explain to any potential owner that this is a more "natural"'finish and is not as robust as a lacquer (or CA) finish which I sometimes use.
2) no tubes are used here. The cellulose is rebated into the wood and glued in place. The wall thickness of the wood is a round 2mm so it's pretty strong and I always do a fairly tough snap-test on them just in case there is any weakness that may be hiding in the wood.

I should have been clearer. It's cellulose acetate, so it's a bioplastic that is manufactured from organic matter, such as wood pulp, and acetic acid.
I have used acrylic for the same purpose but much prefer the warm and soft feel of the cellulose acetate in the hand compared to acrylic.

Ash your pens are absolutely inspirational. Everything is perfect. I'd love to pick your brain about how to sleeve timber for kitless when you get some time mate

Count me in with the folks who want to know how you sleeve the wood blank. I'm waiting on my tap and die order from the IAP group buy to get going on bespoke pens. My goal with this is to stick with wood for blanks wherever possible, but I am concerned with the strength and ability to hold the threads of the wood, so have been looking at ways to do a sleeve or insert into the wood for strength and tap-ability. I know Ryan Krusac has been doing this for some time with much success.....
