Last week a string of swarf snaked its way into the headstock housing via the lead screw opening and blew the motor control board (arcs and sparks). Cost me $140 to replace. I cut a file folder to make a cover for the opening behind the lead screw. It happened to me, hope it does not happen to anyone else.
