Well, given that it includes everything in the regular CSC3000C package ($169.95) plus the pin jaws ($24.95), indexing attachment (no price I see), and spur insert (no price), I don't think PSI is charging extra for the TiN plating.

Regards,
Eric

Are the welding goggles included?

Sorry, guys, but I just don't see the need for a TiN plated scroll chuck. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't use mine for anything harder than the metal the chuck is made from.[?]

Wowh.. that is some major bling! I need to get one of those gold plating kits to plate all my handles too! put some 22" castors on the old Delta, why I may just paint it metal flake green!

I was hoping for Black Titanium! :D
I wonder if Little Machine Shop will follow suit with a Gold Plated live center? :D

I never used the Barracuda 2, I've heard good thing about the chuck.
No matter what kind of plating this 12 piece set has, $219 looks like a decent price.

I wondered when this would come up.

Raises the question, "HOW much more does it cost to have it made in gold-colored Titanium???? WHY are those pen kits so expensive???"

Back to the earlier question, "How many suckers are born......>>>>> are we, they????"

And you oughta see the bling his skew is made of.Makes most of the guys in da hood jealous.:D[}:)];)

I figure it a little differently. Everything in the regular CSC3000C package ($169.95) plus the small flat jaws ($24.95), indexing attachment (no price), and super spur insert ($16.95) comes to $212 less a few pennies. I have no idea what the indexing attachment is or how much it is worth as there is no picture and I don't find it on their web site; but it would appear that they are not charging much, if anything for the TiN coating.

I bet the cost is minimal.

There are two reasons I wouldn't buy this chuck,
1) It won't fit on a 1-1/4x8tpi spindle
2) I already own five chucks... and that's not counting vacuum, jacobs or collet chucks.
3) I hate changing jaws on a chuck (okay I lied, 3 reasons)

I guess I could buy that thing and put it in a drawer, or for the same money I could buy a bunch of TN kits that would actually be seen by someone. It is nice and shiny though.....tough choice.

I have to show that to the owner of our Woodcraft store. He had some chucks "walk away", or get confused with some other turners chucks, or something...... Anyway he took a can of gold spray paint and painted all the chucks in the shop. I have never been one to believe if you make your tools look like hell no one will take them, but he sure must be. Now he can get some of these in and it won't be as painful to look at.[xx(]

I been saying this for a while now, There is no significant cost difference between the pen platings. Why do we get charged more? Because we are willing to pay it.
