at 2:51 am Eastern time my daughter gave birth to our second grandchild -- a girl, Leila Elizabeth. 8 lbs, 4 oz. She was in labor for a total of 40 minutes and arrived at the hospital 10 minutes before the birth. She never even made it into the Delivery Room -- a resident delivered the baby in a Reception Room!

Think this child's life will be marked by impatience!

Congratulations Doug, that's about the way it went with my youngest son, I was in Santa Fe, kid wasn't due for two weeks, wife was in Vallejo CA. woke up at 5:30am drove herself to Kaiser, my baby boy was born 6:45 am it was Dia Los Muertos and snowing like crazy, and the boy has been running like a cheetah ever since.

Wait, wait, wait!

You know the rule - no pics, didn't happen.

Prove it, Grandpa!!!

Congrats on the newest turner in your family. She'll start out by turning over and move on from there.

And I thought my boy came fast... the wife started labor at 6:30 and he was born at 7:27.... She made the delivery room, but they didn't have time to take her glasses off so she got to watch everything in the mirror over her... I wasn't allowed in the DR, her rules, not the doctors...

Congratulations.. we need more pretty girls in this world.

The proof is in the pudding. Here's my little pudding!
