I am just curious. How do you turn those blanks that are clear down to a design? like feathers snakes skin. Do you just turn down to the feathers? or etc?
No do not do that!!! They are called clear cast on tubes. You treat them just as you would any other blank and use the kits bushings as guides. The clear resin casting is to protect the feathers and snakeskins and other things from hands touching them and ruining them. Here is an example of such. These are actually colored rope that has been clear cast. Here is also some copper braiding blanks to show what they look like when cast in resin.
AS John wrote: " use the kits bushings as guides" or, with calipers - measure the fittings (nose cone/nib end, center band, clip end and turn to those sizes.
