Blank Problem?

I received this as a freebie which I appreciate. This is the first of these I have turned and am curious - is it normal or typical to get the two slurry areas like in this blank? I should of asked the question before I assembled!:redface: (Excuse the photography took it with my phone!)
Hope I can get this clicker apart without ruining the parts!

You have a "one-of-a-kind" Pen!!!

No, I have never seen that before---not even at ONE spot on a pen, let alone TWO!!!
 
First time I've seen that in a striped blank.

Since that extra "uniqueness" might make it harder to sell, make it a daily user so you can test out the pen's durability over time!
