Blank ID help

I picked this one from the pass it forward box #3.
It is marked with a ?.
It looks like Maple but appears heavier and darker in colour than Maple.
Any ideas?

Looks similar to Manzanita Burl.

I don't think it's snakewood. It might be redwood burl.

Snakewood is very heavy. Here's a pic.

Looks similar to a Coolibah Burl blank I have laying around.

Definitely burl - but I have several different kinds including colibah that it could be. Looks like some I have gotten from George! Help George!

I don't think it's amboyna, either. I would go with redwood burl, but the grain doesn't look as open as redwood usually does. Afzelia or brown mallee burl, maybe?
