I goofed in a big way. I got my very first set of snake blanks as a door prize at our chapter meeting. they were on cigar tubes. so I happily turned away, using all the care I could manage. I put a glass finish on this sucker and it looked good. Then I realized I turned the profiles backwards. long/short tubes reversed.AAAAARRRGGG!!!! Q: can I re-cast this blank as is, and just start over. will the next PR adhier or show contrast. to I need to remove any finish from the barrels first?

Remove any finish or wax and polish with micromesh and recast. You will not be able to see(should not be able to see) the new PR on top of the old PR. The ones I've recast have come out fine. Large castings are made in layers because of the heat. The new will stick to the old and is should be seamless. It's worth a try. I'll bet you are now the most angriest pirate ever!!
Do a good turn daily!
