A friend from church let us use her gardens for my daughter's senior pictures. She is well know for her phenomenal gardening and for just being a wonderful person. I wanted to make her something as a thank you and this is the first item completed.
She has an enormous pin oak in her yard and I came across a decent sized limb from a pin oak so I made her this weed pot. It is about 10" tall, drilled a 1 1/2" wide hole 6" deep into the pot after shaping to allow a wider variety of flowers to be place in it and to reduce checking/cracking.
It turned out pretty rustic from all of the spalting and rot spots. I'm happy with it overall, it may warp or check some but that is part of the beauty of these projects.
