So here is that burl. I know I would love to cut it up as well, but a buddy of mine wants something special. So I may be turning this into a lamp.

Hell I will send your bubby a gift card and he can go to walmart and buy a lamp--------as soon as you ship the burl to me.
Thanks for posting the pic

yea, he may be a little ticked off seeing how he gave me about $400 worth of whole cherry burls. I think I will keep this one and simply have fun turning it.

Hi Gary,

I know we aren't professional photographers, but would be possible for you to try to take a close-up pic of one of those pieces flat on the bench/table, with the bark pointing upwards ? I can't see the grain very well on the pic you posted, I may need stronger glasses also but, if that is possible I would appreciated!

Cheers
George

That pic is shot sitting on a table saw top in my shop----if the sun comes out today I will take a better pic just for you George----heck it would be nice to see the sun.

Tell me about the sun. I haven't seen a nice day in weeks. Today we have high winds up to 50+ mph. Its going to be fun on the road with all the truckers.

Jim --it snowed here yesterday---again. Temp last night was down in the mid teens. I have about a weeks worth of firewood left for the shop.-----I am ready for spring.
The light meter is spinning so fast -----if it came out of the meter base it would cut down half the trees in this county before it slowed down.

Didn't you see! This wood has cankerburyrottonnogooduhoh disease. Box it up, send it to me and I'll dispose of it for you before you get into trouble:)

Are these better???????????????????

Thanks Gary, most appreciated.

Now I can see why the first pic did look out of focus to me...!!! look at all that ripple/quilt...! and about those colors...!!!

Yeah, well, I got a few bits of different woods but noting like that, unfortunately...:frown:, I'm a sucker for pretty timbers!:wink:

Cheers
George
