I went the other way last night. 1 1/2" forsner bit that was too dull, trying to drill into end grain. I had Indians calling me responding to my smoke signals. It ranked up there with the time I spilled a pint of stain on some logs and the floor. I'm still getting some flashbacks on that one.
 
Camphor and juniper/cedar smells great for me.

But it smells the best when my wife brings me my freshly baked snack in the shop [^][^][^]
 
Most of the time my shop smells like cut up deer antler.. The cedar was a very nice change for me.. I like the idea of the wife bringing something out.. But that just doesn't happen with my wife..lol

Be careful when sanding western red cedar, the wood is loaded with an irritant - plicatic acid. I found this out several years ago, If I work it now, I use a respirator. Here's a link:

This may sound weird, but I've turned twp pens for my dad here in the last two weeks out of Aspen. I thought it smelt good. Camphor though made my whole garage smell good.
