I thought I'd post a little tease of what I've been working on that's been keeping me away.

Looks to me like a Harley Davidson 2003 (Anniversary Edition) tank with a FXD frame and a homebrew (custom) Springer/FXD fork with extended rake, that is about to be triked with a (Volkswagon Beetle?) rear axle?
Am I close?

Definitely close. Tank is dead on, forks are about the same thing I figured (got them at a swapmeet and the guy wasn't sure), frame is actually custom built trike frame from Wildman Trikes out of Florida, and it is coupled with a VW IRS (Independent Rear Suspension).

I currently have a standard tranny for it, but will be picking up an autostick next week when I go get my engine (1600 cc rebuild). I have a disc brake conversion kit coming w/5 X 4 3/4 bolt pattern. All that's left to do is figure out what seat I want, and what kind of fenders and sheet metal to shape to fill unsightly voids. Then I can take it apart and get it to the powder coater and painter.

On a side note, I just picked up a 1984 Goldwing 1200 for $100. It has a gasket leak, but it was running when parked. The fairing and seat are beat to h3ll, but I don't need those. I'm going to have my oldest son get it running then hack the front end off and build our version of the T-rex reverse trike. Then I'll have two to play with.

Mannie, I was looking forward to it too. Oh well, I can't tell them to stay home. That just wouldn't be proper.

That will be a sweet trike!

Good News! The 80's model GW 1200 is one of my favorites. You'll be glad to know that it is one of the FEW Gold Wings that you don't have to completely disassemble to remove the engine to replace a gasket.

Additionally, I have seen the 1200 triked using ONLY the starter motor reverse to make a TRIKE with reverse. Not many others will stand this much abuse.

Keep the photos coming!
