Beautiful wood !

A friend of mine recommended a source of beautiful exotic woods, mainly ironwood but several other varieties. Not cheap ! They sell knife scales and boards no pen blanks so you'd have to cut board to make pen blanks. I have not ordered from them yet but thinking about it. If what they show on their website is indicative, these would make Magnificent pens !
Only thing holding me back is the price.

Knife scales are not the thickness we need for pen blanks. Now you can stack a few to get to that thickness if you like. Just remember if buying knife scales.

The thickest scale I use is 9/32. So John's right on what he posted. I have bought Ironwood pen blanks on this site. Someone might know who he is but I've forgotten.

Yes, @StevenDavis has had some Ironwood pen blanks and just recently he had some Ironwood burl for sale down in the For Sale notices. Looked very nice $9 per blank, $14 hand picked. He's also on Facebook along with other blank sellers..Burls, Swirls and Curls.

Or buy a 3/4" thick board and rip it in 3/4" pieces.
