Hey that's great! You have a serious injury but not serious enough to put you in hospital or disfigure you in some way. This means for the next several years and hopefully longer, you will follow every safty warning on power tools and take greater care of your own safety practises.

I hope it's no too painful Andrew.

Take care and kee it clean.

I followed saftey rules, the bowl blank wasn't perfectly flat i think and it rolled and my thumb got throw into the blade on accident(my left hand was closer to the blade then my right too!) So counting scars so far, 8 stitches on the chin don't climb on the back of relciners especially while they're on a concrete floor, 4 stitches locking pocket knives are a good idea! lot of pain on leg and tiger stripes of blood don't leave the weedwhacker running especially in the path that you have to walkthrough. And 3 stiches re-saw blades show no mercy[B)] I've learned over the years.[:I]

Aye! It's just a flesh wound! Looks like that one will be a slow heal though. Mine is almost healed where I cut it open on the chainsaw a week ago. I have about 50% full heal and the rest is well scabbed.

Watch those bandsaws, they can bite you while seeming so safe.

Sorry about your injury[xx(], but all cautionary tales are deeply appreciated.
In woodworking, hubris can bring about blood and gore.
A reminder once in awhile helps me remain cautious.

That must hurt and as mentioned hope you heal well and most importantly learn from it.

While the bandsaw is one of the safest tool in the shop (IMHO)...it is still a power tool than does its job well (to cut).

Number one safety violation is to under estimate the tool.

Just reminds us that even when we are careful, accidents can and will happen. That's why they call them 'accidents' and not 'purposes'.

;)

Actually my dad and i do shoot alot. I have a 30-06 and 12gauge.

Glad it's not too bad. Since it was probably a defective piece of wood, send it to me and I will take care of it. :D

I sanded the end off of my finger a couple of weeks ago (don't ask) and my son said: It's a long way from your heart! Guess who said that when he got stitches?

Man I hate to see these posts, but it is a reminder that what we do can hurt us in a hurry. Heal up fast. Now my thumb is aching.
