I picked up a set of 3 (red, yellow, and blue) at Michael's when I bought my resin but am finding it difficult to mix and get the non-primary colours I want.

So my question is what do you use to colour your resin? I have the pearlex sets but want something cost friendly to use to colour the base resin before pearlex.

Thanks

Jamie, I think you'll find alot of people use Mica powder from Coastal Scents. It's $2.00 - $5.00 for an ounce of color. The Mica works very well, and you can get a ton of blanks with the powder.

Get some cheap fingernail polish, it is available in many colors, all of them bold, and it is easy to zero in on an exact shade because the colors offered cover a wide range with only slight variations from one color to the next. 1/4 oz will do a good job on 8 oz of resin, use more for greater opacity. You will still need some mica powder to give the casting some inner shine and depth.
