So, I'm in the Army and I have to support a NTC rotation down at Fort Irwin for two months. I'll be staying at the Hampton in Barstow. Does anyone know of any good turning type shops in the area? While most of my time will be busy, I'm sure I'll have some off time and would love to be able to pick up some stuff locally.

You might check with the orchard owners/caretakers for larger trimmings.
