This was the first one I made. Pretty simple to make. Most band saw boxes follow the same procedure.

Cut off the back.
Cut out the drawers.
Glue the back on and cut the external shape of the box.
Saw off the front and backs of the drawers.
Form the drawer body.
Glue the front and back of drawers on.
Sand, sand, sand
Sand, sand, sand.
Finish.

Follow directions given by Keith for most bandsaw boxes. If you want to hide the entry kerf for the drawers follow the grain into the drawer cut then glue closed before glueing back of box on.

Here's one i made 25 years ago. I was turning a lamp out of all these glued up left-overs and it just got too small and I turned it into a bandsaw box instead. The finish is dirty and it has some paint speckles on it but you get the idea. Had to turn it again after the drawers were put together. It was kinda tricky as I remember. I just love those boxes.

I made a small box after reading this and was wondering,is there a way to even out the gap(top and bottom) caused by the losing the blade kerf or am I asking to much?just think they would look better if the gap was even all the way around, thanks.

You can glue a couple thin strips of wood to the underside of the drawers. Don't make them the full depth of the drawers, set them back an inch or so and they will not be visible.

Bill,
Also by rounding over the bottom of the drawer more then the rest of the drawer and opening, can give the elusion that there is more space on the bottom. Also, resist the temptation of over-sanding the drawer opening,
