Just had to show off some of my new "old stock" bakelite I picked up this week. Some very uncommon colors.

Blue with white swirl (not so uncommon, but lots of swirling)

Green with swirls

Coral color (kind of rare)

Amber with gold swirls

Clear with gold star dust (rare)

Ice Tea color with gold star dust (rare)

Orange with yellow swirl

Now to try some of this stuff out in the next few weeks and see what I end up with. Hopefully some beautiful pens for how expensive this stuff was.

I think I'm done gloating now :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Hmm -- working with Bakelite can be kind of dangerous -- maybe you better to send it out here so I can work on it for you. :)

Beautiful material -- congratulations!

beautiful stuff, can't wait to see the pens.

Can I say "You Suck! on here without somebody getting offended? Or should I save that for the OldTools Listserve for when somebody finds a vintage bedrock plane for $5 at a garage sale?

Yeah, I'd be gloating too! Ed has a gray and white Bakelite on his site. Some of the colors I've seen in Bakelite are really nice. I'm thinking Dawn can replicate some of them...I'm hoping.
