This morning I took my son to school early(5:45) as they were going on a field trip.He is 10 and in the 5th grade.I had a bad feeling as I left him but there was no way I was getting him off that bus.I get a call at 7:40 saying the bus has flipped on the interstate.I panic and run out of work,I could'nt hardly drive because my leg was shaking so bad.I tried to get to the crash site and the police would'nt let me through. So I walked through anyway.I could'nt sit and wait.My son was on that bus!!I finally get there and they tell me my son was tagged for transport to the hospital, the transporter tells me they have not taken anyone by that name. Now I am in full panic mode trying to find him.I finally found him and he is ok,a few bad scrapes and bruises. His shoulder hurts real bad and he had cat scans and x-rays.But only minor injury.Man you here about these kind of hings happening all the time but never think it could happen to your child.Today it happened to mine and he is ok.Really makes you think about those feelings you have.

Hope everything turns out okay with your kid (and all the people in the bus) and that the worst is over. Do the follow up check ups though...just in case.

Ronald, thank goodness he is OK. I was panicked right there with you as I was reading. I hope the other kids are not seriously hurt.

I guess when you feel funny again you now know that you have top line instincts.

Thank goodness all turned out well.

Keep breathing.

Big hug to both of you, and your wife as well.

Ron,

Great to hear your son is OK.

Now, let's fast forward 60 years and think of the STORY he will be telling HIS grandkids about the HUGE BUS accident he barely survived in ought 8.

Amen! Brother. That is why the first thing I do everyday is thank God for my family and put them in his hands. Glad your kid is OK.

It has been an emotional rollercoaster all day.My son saw his teacher go out the window of the bus.(AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I GET AS HE IS RELUCTANT TO TALK AND I DON'T WANT TO FORCE HIM TOO)I could'nt find the words to say.

Ron, I'm sorry you guys have had to go through that. That's a really bad day! I'm praying that everything checks out okay, and I'm just glad the news wasn't worse. I feel for you about not being able to get through. They'd have to shoot me to stop me from getting through to one of my own kids.

My mom always tells me to follow my gut when I get those feelings. Many times there's something bigger working there I guess.

Go hug on your boy some more and thank God for him. I wish my kids were here to do the same. :)

Wow,

Being a parent myself, with two daughters that ride the bus to school, I can imagine how you felt driving to the scene.

I'm really glad he is home with you.

Glad to hear he is okay, looking at the photo, you can only imagine the worst. Like you said, you never think it can happen to you or yours. Tis going to be a better day now, unless you happen to be sitting in that traffic jam.

Ron, I'm glad your son...and all the other kids are ok. When I picked me son up at NJMS Friday he had heard about the wreck and was concerned. After I sorted through quite a few conflicting reports on the internet I was glad when you posted here as someone who was actually on site. Your family and all the others involved will continue to be in our prayers.

It's a shocking picture, Ron. We're so glad to hear that your boy is okay. I remember riding on the bus with my son's first grade class . . . to the Atlanta zoo. We were on I-75 and passing cars left and right. Finally, I walked up to the bus driver and asked him if he knew that the speed limit was 65. He didn't like it . . . but, it slowed us down.

That is a terrible story, I am so glad your son was not hurt too seriously.
It may just be the picture but the rear tyres on the bus don`t look too healthy tread wise.
