I can go to Lowe's and buy 1/2' aluminum rod BUT, I bought some from a IAP member that were pre-drilled. This was last year and I have lost the vendors information. I think it is worth it to have someone else drill the blanks out. Can you help me with who that may have been??

John,
I will agree with Jerry. Aluminum does drill nicely.
You can use your current twist(not brad point) bits, use some wd 40 or crc 3-36 for lubricant.

(The few I have in my store are totally prepped and ready for the lathe.
The holes are reamed for a direct press, NO tubes.
So, you could turn and polish, then powdercoat, anodize, etc. with no issues of tube glue letting go.)

Yup. I am sold. Just finished two cigar pens with aluminum bottoms. I am going to make one for myself, I like them that much.
