I should of taken the hit and driven down to Warrick instead of ordering on line. It's been about 2 weeks since my order and today I get two bottles of powder coat, a spare filter and my vacuum pump. Yes, it was so loose I took it apart without the air of tools!! How they ever even dream that could draw a vacuum is beyond me!

What is missing?? Well, my paint pot, one of my powder's and the powder coating gun itself! The cancled the powder, because it's "back ordered" as well as some squeese bottles, yet the powder coat gun is back ordered until late Dec. (why not cancle that too??!!)

Now I have to drive to Warick, RI anyway to pick up a PC gun that they have in stock! What makes me mad is that they back ordered one item, cancled two and never even called or sent an e-mail. Oh, and the paint pot?? It's "still in transit" Oh joy..... :(

Don't mind me, I just have to vent... I have had a really bad week at work and this is just the topping to the week.

I feel your pain Lee. When I ordered mine, they sent the pot and the pump separate also. The pot showed before the pump though. Makes no sense. For the most part, I only order from HF if I have to. And I don't have one any where near me.
It'll come together and you will be as completely trapped as the rest of us.[:D][:D][:D][:D]

Its not just HF, I ordered some game call stuff from HUT a while back. They sent everything but the parts for the game calls. No email, phone call or anything. Sometimes I'd lilke to be able to put my payment on back order. "Oh you'll get part now and part in 6-8 weeks when it comes in"

Thanks guys, after some pizza and Coke Zero I feel better now. [:D]

I should explain my mood a bit, you see at work they added another supervisor (which I did not get the job) and the guy hired is now my boss. He just to work on my team and had one of the "crappy" areas to deal with. Well, until they replace his position I have to deal with all the "mess". I am a "Material Damage Appraiser" for auto damage for the largest insurer in Mass. so I get to deal with a lot of dirt bags. I will miss my supervisor, he was a realy great guy and while I know the guy that replaced him, we will just see how it pans out.

Oh, and now I have to drive to Warick, RI to visit HF this weekend to pick up the PC stuff!

Oh geesh, thanks Gary!!! Now watch it come in on Monday broken!!! [:0]
after I drive to RI to get the PC gun!

Shannon, that is the think I like the most about my job. I work from home except for my inspections where I drive about 125 miles a day in brand new Malibu. (photos are here somewhere) I am only on the road about 4 hours a day normaly and the parper work is done in my home office. This is why you see me here so often, I check in the window here and there in between files. In all, it's a great job, it's just that I deal with some real dirt bags at times.

Lee - i know the area you live in.........the colors should be changing now aren't they? it'll take you about an hour to hour and a half.........time for some quiet-tude. relax....enjoy the fresh air....

hey, i'm trying! i used to live up there in groton and drove limosines for a company between foxwoods and mohegan sun

Yea but Gary, the paint pot is still in the mail! I will remember to look at the PC gun good before I leave though.

I was thinking about just making the drive, but I am tight on time, and did not need it right away, so I figured that a 10 days or so would be fine. However, the long shipping and the missing stuff was a pain.

Hugh, the leaves are just starting to flip right now, but we are going to have a lack luster year because it's been so dry. Fall is my favorite time of the year, give me a nice heavy sweater, a crisp fall day, and a nice drive in the CJ with the top off... oh yea, that's nice!! I still have 7 weeks before I put the top in for the winter, I am a bit hard core when it comes to "topless" driving. It comes off Easter weekend and goes back on Thanksgiving weekend. To be fair, I don't drive it daily anymore, but I used to use it for work just like that. [:D] I will be taking the Jeep down the HF when I go so let's hope for a nice day, I would hate to toss on a jacket and my "watchmans cap" so early in the year.

Should be OK Lee. It ships with the gauge and reg off and inside the pot. I'd think It'd be pretty hard to break much. I spose they could break off a wing nut thingy, but that seems unlikely. I don't know what happened to Gary's. Any damage would be the shipper anyway. Maybe Gary's took a nice trip around the world before it got to him, took long enough.[8D][8D][8D]

That's good, and to be honest, I have sent you photos of what mine should be set up like and I don't have plans to use any of that stuff anyway. I have the new combo gauge, 1/4" valve and the elbow in already so once the pot comes in I can put it togather. I have to pick up the flex hose for the tank which the air line or vacuum pump will hook up to. Now that I have the pump, I can go get the hose and needed fittings for that, so that helps.

I still have no clue where I am going to set up a freaking toaster oven in the shop yet!

What? Photos of the shop now? The toaster oven? A future shop (yea, right!)

Good grief, it's a freaking mess right now... After milling that cherry burl, turning a 10" cherry burl bowl and tonight's episode of "turn the MDF" to make a sanding disk for the lathe, it's just flat out messy! [:(]

i can only imagine about the leaves. i now live down in the ozarks and although we've had more rain this year, i don't think it'll be as colorful as it should be. my wife has a jeep wrangler, 87, and the top comes off in may and goes back on in october. there is nothing like a drive through the hills with a bite in the air....the wife and i LOVE this time of year....good luck on your purchases and i wish you luck on the drive
(you still have your 'watchcap'??? come to think of it, i do too!)

Scott, Thats still a four hour round trip. Depending on how long I spend in the store, maybe more. thanks for the info though, my wife will certainly want to thank you personally.[:0][:0][:0]

Steve,

I'll let you know the next time I am flying into Vegas to visit my parents in Golden Shores. I can stop by and pick up anything you need. We can arrange to meet. [:D]
