Here we have a self-contained vibrating casting table. I scrounged the motor from the CD player I pulled out of the Shaggin Wagon back in February. I still have a little tinkering to do. I need to find a good battery to make it go fast enough, and I need to probably add a little extra counterweight. I'll probably see how far a 9 volt battery takes me. Or a big lantern battery. It looks promising. A "D" cell battery will spin it, just not fast enough. 1.5 volts is too puny. If this works right, I should be in good shape.

Battery? Why not a an old power supply from a computer- or even a wall wart from some other appliance.

I wanna be sure I didn't create a big fire hazard. Battery makes it a lot safer.

Neat idea. From an engineering standpoint, it looks like you have a lot of "dead wood" that must all be made to "shudder". If you tweak your design, decrease some of the weight and you may have a more efficient shaker!

Thought about that, too. The table is set up so I can add more holes to hold tubes as I get more. Time will tell what else I'll need to do.

But you are rednecking it. You know a redneck's last words right? Hey check this out!

I found a 10.5 vold DC adapter and wired it in. Added more weight and we're golden now! Shakes like crazy! Had to put grips on the bottom to keep it from walking away.

Never one to miss a good RedNeckin!

I proudly present the Oconee Cafe Resin Shaker

One the surface, it looks like a table and gingham table cloth that was ripped off from a Bistro going out of business:

But! When you "look under the hood"

IT has a circa 1965 Tudor Electric Football game for a motor. Notice the intensity control in the front left corner. Winning bid of $9.99 (shipped) from EBay:embarrassed:

It'll be sometime past 9 A.M. before I get to test it all out. Gonna try some new stuff with the colors for a change and see if we can't eliminate the bubbles in the resin altogether. Should look pretty funny when it's going, too.
