At this weeks end I will have earned my Associates Degree in Business. I have been going to school for the past two years and started when my son was just 2 weeks old. It's not too much of a big deal, but for me, it is a new beginning. I start school again on the 21 to earn my bachelors in business/finance.

It goes to show, no matter what we go through, and the problems we face, we can do better for ourselves.

I am greatful for the VA to have approved me to take this plunge into school, and I appreciate the oppurtunity.

Sorry about my rant, this is just something I never thought would happen.

Brian,

Congratulations!

I will be starting back to school on the 20th working on a Bachelors with a major in business administration and a minor in Christian Ministry.

Congratulations! I was able to take advantage of one of the VA educational programs after being wounded in VN many years ago. Tuition and other education related costs are very expensive but I know they are nothing when compared to the price you had to pay to qualify for that assistance. Get the Bachelors.

Congratulations! I'm in the same boat and should finish my Associates in Sept, and then only 6 classes for my Bachelors. VA and tuition assistance has been a godsend to me, I haven't had to spend a cent yet.

While I do not envy what you had to do to earn that tuition assistance, I'm very glad that you have suceeded in your endevors. You have every right to be very proud of what you've accomplished. My wife returned to school this summer after a 12 year layoff and she is struggling with it. It's much harder with a family, a job and life, compared to what it was when she was 19 and a kid.

Grats!

I too have been furthering my education thanks to money from my union. Now I just hope I don't get laid off so I can continue the education. I missed out on the opportunity to use my military education benefits.

Congratulations... I got my AA in Business back in '72 or '73 through the VA... took me a little longer... I started in '69 right after I transferred into the Bay Area from Los Angeles... then got married and started a family, but kept going one or two classes at a time.. I went back to start my BA, but by then things were getting a little out of hand with the job hours and such, so I dropped out and just never found the time to start again.

I admire a man that knows where he needs to go and keeps working at it.

That is fantastic! Congratulations on your achievement. It isn't easy to juggle a family, life and the additional pressures of school. You should be proud!

Brian,
Congratulations on achieving your milestone and Thank You for the sacrifices you made to be able to make the attempt in the first place. Keep your eye on the prize.
