Just got back from the woodworking show. Ran into a couple IAP members there. Demo went well, didn't blow nothin up and actually made a couple half pens. If any one is going this weekend. The show is a little smaller than last year. I thought Legacy was going to be there, but they were a no show. Still lots of stuff to see and buy. They got me for a new Grex compressor & air sander and some other stuff.
Don't hold your breath for the new CSU catalog. I picked one up and nothing new I could see in it. ( so why print a new one).

Well....I think I'll go and put my new Incra sled & miter gage together [:p]

Do they have any turning demos planned for the weekend. I know our club is up there and has something going, but last year they had a professional turner demo some bowl turning.

They had the club doing demo's, the guy from CSU doing demos, can't remember his name. He did some bowls and another guy from CA, turning some small gobblets that were neat. I wanted to see the new Laguna lathe, but it wasn't there, what a bummer.

I may not end up going. I was planning to go today but for some reason I am just not feeling it this year. Maybe because I am not currently in the market for any new toys, except a 4x4, but they won't have any there [;)]. Besides I am so behind in my ornaments and other gifts for the year that I should spend the day in the shop.

I attended the show both Saturday and Sunday. Being a turner much of the show didn't interest me, I don't need to cut dovetails or hang crownmolding. Highlights included the $285 Jet Mini w/ nova midi chuck, $5 Woodcraft magazine subscription, and the Craft Supplies USA booth (although no kits better than the Gent, and the Jr Gent was only available with the threaded end). Rockler had a bunch of turning stock, mostly Kingwood, Osage Orange, Pau Ferro, Olive, Tulipwood, Pink Ivory and Amboyna burl.
