My daughter teaches early childhood special education in Arkansas. They have a project at the school for 4th graders to receive a postcard from every state in the USA and from as many other countries as possible. If you can, would you send a card to:
Southside Elementary School
Attn: Fourth Grade Teachers
2600 South Pine
Cabot, Arkansas 72023

Any type of card will do but they prefer picture postcards that show something in your area like a historical building or something that the students can learn about your area. Say a word of greeting to the students and tell them where you live. You might even mention that you make pens for a hobby or a living.

Many thanks to those of you that can help. (The things Daddy's do for their kids!!:biggrin:)

I can send one from Wisconsin... I'll also drop a note to my brother (rsx1974 on here) - he's currently stationed in Korea... Maybe he can drop one from there?
 
I will send one from San Francisco. My daughter did this when in elementary school. It is a great project. Helps kids get an idea of how big the world really is beyond their neighborhood.
 
Freddie; I'll get a card from the Bufford Pusser Museum. (it's rather sad living in or around a town that's claim to fame and history was some Cretinous Giant that beat the crap out of people with a Maddox handle) Maybe one from Shiloh Battlefield as well.

LOL Send it on. They will enjoy getting it. I grew up in Arkansas during the days of tough prison management. Tales there abound with bufford type stories! The battlefield one will be especially good for the 4th graders. Thanks Ken, I appreciate it.
 
Freddie, I'll send one from Birmingham, AL...maybe something with our local "Ironman Statue", Vulcan on it!
 
I've got Oklahoma covered. I wanted to get one from work with a neat looking jet on it, but they didn't have any. I got one with an Native American Indian on it in full dress. I'll put it in the mail tomorrow.
 
I will be glad to send one from NC. Your Daughter has a good Daddy to help out with this project. My hat goes off to elementary teachers, I don't know how they do it. They have a lot of CLASS!

I'll send one from Augusta, Maine with Old Fort Western on it. It's the oldest wooden fort still in existence in the country. (254 years old! Imagine the pen blanks!:biggrin:)

Well, considering the type of thugs he dealt with........they more that likely deserved what they got.......they were no angels themselves. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire!!!

hey edman2/Freddie.... gonna send 2 from Spring, TX ...just north of Houston. One is of two guys trying to get a computer altered 8ft large mouth bass into a johnboat!!! The 2nd is of a Longhorn who's head is about even with the Houston downtown skyline...also exaggerated!! Maybe your daughter can show you them someday!! I've had them for probably 10yrs! This was the perfect chance to make them count!! Sorry, I did put a note on the back of the Longhorn one. TX beat OK!!!
