Hello, just wanted to share a little family history. My middle nephew was born on april fools day ten weeks early so you can say he really fooled his mom,LOL. I couldn't believe how small he was when he was born that premature, not much over 2 lbs. Well he turns 12 today with no ill effects from being born 2-1/2 months early, except hes on the small side but his mom is about 5 feet tall so it could be that. He is a miracle and proves to me that some sort of higher power/energy/being/what ever you believe in, something bigger then us is all around us if we just stop and focus to see it. He asked for me to turn him a pen for his B-day as his gift not to buy him a video game or something expensive, the kid is so beyond his years it sometimes scares me. So in my ending remember that great things happen to good people and it happened to this family 12 years ago. Thanks for reading I need to go grab a tissue now, Victor

Great story Victor! Hey ... I just had an idea. Why not ask him to help you turn his birthday pen. You guys could work on it together. Not only would it be a great bonding experience but it would be a pen he would cherish for a long time to come. Just a thought ... it's the Oprah in me. :D:D

Peemies alway seem to turn out to be special babies. My girl was born 3 months early and exactly 2 lbs. Many occupational & speech therapist have seen her and are all amazed at how smart a child she is. Head Start took one look at her and said that there is no reason for her to even go there and that she should be in Kindergatden. I love my preemie. She turns 3 in 2 months. I cant wait for her to be old enough to turn a pen. She loves to use the ones I make.

Great to hear Victor!! Thanks for sharing!!

My oldest Granddaughter Dakota was real premature (actually she came suddenly and was delivered at home)---she was a little over 2 pounds and is now 15 years old and competed at State finals for gymnastics and competitive cheerleading and did very well. She's actually as tall as my Daughter now.

My Grandson Jace was 1 pound 13 ounces and will be 2 this Thursday. His was a struggle, and his strong will (well, a lot of prayers went to our Heavenly Father) pulled him through, but he does have Cerebral Palsey. Dakota's his older sister. My Daughter takes him to a lot of therapy and is very patient with him and he's had several operations on his eyes and for other things also---but he's a fighter & a real winner.

Bless the preemies for sure!!!

It sounds like a lot of families have been blessed....humm lots of birthdays that are taking place in the next several days. More reasons to celebrate.

Happy Birthday (late) to your nephew. He sound like my youngest daughter. I nick named her Rodent, as she is tiny even at 16 but a fire for life that was obvious from the moment she was born.
