Yup - it's an awesome distraction. I liked to play Sid Meir's "Railroads" too, but it doesn't much like Vista.

Part of the fun, for me, in playing AOE was creating my own GIANT maps with HUGE piles of resources, stocking it with opposing (computer) players, killing everybody in sight, and then setting up trade caravans with 200 carts and seeing how many millions I could make before I got bored.... What FUN!

I won't play WoW. WoW = Crack (once you start you never get enough). I have seen too many go down that rabbit hole never to return.

Scott, that is so true. A lot of my friends have lost their jobs playing the Game from calling off so much. My wife won't turn pens with me anymore because of it. Thankfully I was able to back off a lot. Now IAP is my new crack, lol.
