hello folks, I bought some redwood burl from cook woods a few months back and I rough turned a piece for a box which is now dry and ready to stabilise.

I have read that redwood burl can be problematic to stabilise!?!?!?

are there any hints or tips i need to follow? or do i just stabilise as normal and hope for the best?

I've done some redwood before, not sure if it was the burl. It does stain the resin so you don't want to use it for light colored woods later. You may need to make two trips through the process to pick up enough resin.
