I'm headed to a little west of Melbourne Florida next week and wondering if there any pen makers in the area. I was hoping to find some local figured wood and meet other penmakers.
Any penturners near Melbuorne Fla.

You'll be about three hours SE of me; about an hour ENE of BrokenBit, and about 2 hrs. south of VisExp. How long you down here for?
There's a good hardwood store in Vero Beach on US 1 called Sturgis Lumber that's not too far from Melbourne -- perhaps 45 minutes west. They're well stocked with all types of woods.
Are you flying or driving? IF you're driving, stop by on your way up or down and I'll load you up with lots of local offcuts and tree parts!

I am in Deltona, about 1 hour north of you. There are a few exotic/hardwood dealers in the area. Chipmunk hardwoods in Edgewater (near New Symrna Beach (www.chipmunkhardwoods.com) or Amazon Hardwoods in Casselberry (about 30 min north of Orlando). I won't be able to meet up with you, as I will be in Atlanta, visiting family during that week.

I live in Palm Coast. As Gary said, about two hours north of Melbourne. If you want to stop by, check out my workshop and meet another penmaker that would be great.
