I have been wanting to turn some pens for a few years, finally ordered up the parts and pieces from PSI and am awaiting them. I have a fairly equiped wood shop, table saw, radial arm saw, jointer, bandsaw, tons of hand tools, welder, cutting torch .....etc.....

My typical mode of operandi is dive in head first with my eyes closed, bust some equipment and tools, bleed a little and then hopefully not make the same mistake at least until I get the stitches taken out. :bulgy-eyes:

If I had asked for the express shipping from PSI I probably wouldnt have found this site, until I was on the mend. Poked around a little today, lots of good tips and examples here. :bananen_smilies046::bananen_smilies046:

Hope I dont ask to many stupid questions.

Welcome from Texas Roy! There are no stupid questions here! Well, maybe sometimes when I ask one!! Looking forward to seeing some of your pens!

Welcome Roy, from far west Kentucky, to the addiction, sometimes referred to as the vortex. Be sure to give the library a good bit of time. The link is at the top of the page. You will find an article called Library Index. This covers tutorials on about anything pen making you can think of. You will also notice that there are articles listed by year. Much good info there as well. When these fail to answer your questions, by all means post it here. I have never seen one go unanswered very long. You might also want to give this thread a good look. It has some very good info for the beginning pen turner; http://content.penturners.org/library/general_reference/Getting_started_in_pen_turning.pdf. Grab some wood, make some shavings and have fun all the while being safe.
