Another Mystery Wood

I got these cuts of wood from the bargain bin at the local wood store. The guy I talked to said they were nailed on to the end of a shipment and he did not know what they were. I think it is Sapele after I turned a small fan pull out of it because it resembles the character of the Sapele spoon I carved. I got 4 of these and after seeing how nice it cut and polished going to try some pens with it.

having Only 30 cubic foot of this stuff in my wood store leads me to concur with your diagnosis.
