Kelly had a non-active Marine in her class at work. She showed him the poems she wrote for the IAP pens that were donated to the men and women at the Center for the Intrepid. He liked them but said your referr to them as soldiers which is army. So she wrote a Marine poem. What do you all think?

The United States Marines, having served our country proud
From shore to shore, across the land, we'll say it nice and loud
We're lean, we're mean, and we're the first ones on the scene
No else can claim title "United States Marine."

From 1775, our new nation we have served
Our reputation that precedes us has long since been deserved
We stand our ground, take a stand, and accept what it may imply
We exemplify our motto; we call out "Semper Fi!"

We've stood our ground, done our part in every US war
We've fought and bled on every land and landed on every shore
When the world knows America is coming, we're the first ones they look for
There is no brotherhood closer than the United States Marine Corps
