Last night I was finally able to turn my first usable cast blank. My first cast didn't turn out so well, I didn't mix the hardener into the resin enough and the resin on one end of the tube just sort of melted away after I took it out of the mold (the other end was fine). This one also has a bunch of problems (some of the gears came loose, the label changed color, you can clearly see the label line), but it did turn

It's a nice pen.
The gears are difficult at times to make them stay where you want them, like on the tube and not your fingers. You've learned a lot about the process and can continue to improve upon the process. Don't give up, the next one will be even more impressive.
I like the gear pens!
