Something was not right so I stop the lathe it was like rubber it would bend like it didnt cure all they way. This is a first for me any suggestions.

I would think that it needs more time & warmth to cure, was it cold where you were curing?

How long did you let them cure? If more than 6 hours or so, they should hav been cured plenty to turn. Other things it could be...did not get the ratio right. You should be doing equal part of A and B by WEIGHT, not volume. The other thing it could possibly be is you did not get it mixed completely. If you are sure you did all of these right, then you have a bad batch of resin for some reason.

I have cast 40-50 gallons of Alumilite and have never had a failed cast except for once when I tried casting something that was not dry when I fisrt started. I have cast in all different temps and humidities with no problems.

Yes I mixed by weight but the problem I think is the mixing I mix more than I usally do and may have not got it stirred good enough. tried some more yesterday but mixed more see what will happen.

I have cast alot of alumilite and have just a couple thoughts:

If it is cold in the shop, the alumilite will not properly set up.

If the alumilite wasn't well mixed, it may not set up well.

If your mixing ration was off, it may not set up well. Although my experience with alumilite is that mixing by weight is generally unnecessary. Volume was always good enough.

It should be noted that all of my failures resulted in alumilite that had sticky, unhardened patches. They never resulted in rubbery results. You may have been sent a bad batch of alumilite.

Alright this is probably a dumb question, but I couldn't find the answer on the alumilite website. To date I have just used castin craft and wanted to try alumilite. The quantity listed on the alumilite website is 32oz. Is that a total of 64 ounces (32 of part A and 32 of part B) or is it 32 total?

I believe a 32 oz kit is 32 mixed ounces. It changes when you get to the gallon size to a gallons of A and a gallons of B. I might be wrong but I believe that is what I remember.
