Up to this point I have only casted Alumilite and I am pondering PR but what are the differences between the two?

What would I need new molds? Can I use Silicon (what type) to make a resinsaver type mold?

Silicone molds work for both types of resin. I use my molds for both...

Most people use Silmar 41. I use Silmar 40 because that is what is available in my area locally. The properties of each is in the following thread: http://www.penturners.org/forum/showpost.php?p=988475&postcount=9

Those should help a little. Silmar is a Polyester resin while Alumilite is a Polyurethane resin.
Do you have specific questions? The differences are many...PR shrinks when it cures, Alumilite does not.....PR cures slower than Alumilite. The list goes on and on....
