Tonight I turned one of those Scrap Metals blanks I made last week. True to what I said in my casting post, the blank is the least favorite one I have poured so far. It does look much better than the blanks before they are turned though. I painted the inside of the blank with a bronze color and added a drop to the epoxy. It's a good thing because there were a couple of places where the tube can be seen through the very translucent Vibrant Bronze pigment. I finished it with three coats of GluBoost Medium because there were a couple of pinholes (bubbles) that showed up when I sanded it and GluBoost basically makes them vanish. I put it on a gold Magnetic with the wavy clip from Crooked Mill. It is a little more sparkly than the pictures show and I think it goes pretty good with the gold plating. Anyhow, here are the pictures of the pen (and a picture of the poured blanks):

I love it. Great looking blank after being turned, finished and kitted. You won't have to worry about the tube showing up on blanks like this when you save them for kitless pens without tubes.

I think it turned out great, Dave. Really striking.

As I said in your initial post with the poured blanks, I wouldn't have thought to combine those colors.
