I stabbed a scratch awl into the tips to open up the holes. A few times, the cap pulled out with the awl, but it snapped right back in. Just wipe off the awl completely and try not to get the dye all over.
Alumilite dye tip: it cleans up well with a bit of acetone.
You can add some odorless mineral spirits to the bottle and shake it up. This will thin the dye and make it easier to dispense and does not affect the cure.
I took a bodkin out of my fly tying kit. It is a needle in a handle and poked it in. Now my dye runs faster but not real fast. At least my hand doesn't get a cramp trying to get 10 drops out.
