Give you kids an extra hug. I got a phone call this morning from my 11 yo daughter, frantic. When I finally got her to take a breath, I got enough info to hear that they were sledding down the driveway and Landon (my 4 yo son) was pinned under the wheel of a van. Then got it was his leg. Slammed the phone shut and hollered at someone as I ran out the door and headed home. Got a hold of my wife about half way home. Fire rescue and EMT's were there. Landon was nervous, but laying there quietly while they looked at the situation. When I got home, he was in the back of the ambulance and doing fine. He started down the drive head first on a disc the same time a mini van came around the corner. They met in the street. He hit the van and it kicked him side ways into the rear wheel, and it pinched his leg, by his pants, as tight to the wheel as I think it could with out being under it. The EMTs checked him out, and we took him to the doctor. Nothing but a small cut, and a little bruised. Thank you , Lord. We feel very fortunate to have walked away from this one with no more.

Paul so glad to hear that your son is OK I know how it feels when you hear one of your children have been involved in an accident, How are you doing ?

Paul, glad it turned out that he was not seriously hurt . Diane said to give him and extra hug tonight from her.

Hi Paul, Glad to hear your son is okay. I bet you all will be gathered as a family this evening enjoying each others company.

Have a good evening, Keith "mrburls"

Wow, Paul that would really be scary.
I'm glad he is not seriously hurt. Take care of him,
and we are all glad it was not worse.
I know how he feels, I was once pinned under front wheel of a Mustang, no one around.
Give your son a big hug.

Paul,
That's a heart stopper for sure... Way back when my little guy was 5, he was playing with the little girl next door and her mom was sitting on the front porch watching, so I asked her to keep eye on him while I ran 8 blocks to the market and back.. all I needed was a gallon of milk, so in and out.. 10-15 minutes tops. I got back to the house and there was an ambulance in the street at the end of the block... the little girl had run her big wheel down the sidewalk and into the street right in front of a car. She only got a little scrape on her face and arm when she fell off the big wheel and the car actually missed her, but I'm pretty sure the older gentleman driving needed a clean pair when he got home. I almost did when I pulled up and saw that ambulance. Needless to say, he never never got left home when I went to the store again..

I'm glad all turned out well for your little guy.

Good Lord. I have kids that age and I'm sitting here in a cold sweat just thinking about what you have all gone through. Very, very relieved for you. Kids just do not have a self-preservation gene.

Thanks to all. He was going on like a 4 yo when I left to come back to work. I am ok, but still a little shaky when I think about it. Can't tell the Lord thanks enough!

You have no idea what comes over me with just the thoughts your story brings up. I am deeply grateful all is well in the end. It only takes the blink of an eye.
now go count how many new gray hairs you have today.

Paul, I'm very happy that everything turned out OK. Wishing you and yours the best. Do yourself a favor and take an off an hour or so early today and take him sledding somewhere safe.

That story made catch my breath! I have two kids (11 and 9) and can't imagine getting that call! Good job on your daughter's part though! You have to admire her presence of mind to pick up the phone instead of panicking!

I usually get this late, being on the other side of the world and all, but PTL that he is OK. Lifting your son and your family in a prayer of praise and thanksgiving.

That is scary.Thank God he is ok.This brought back memories of last year when my son was on the bus that flipped.Never been so scared in my life.So I know how that drive was.

Paul,
Im glad your son is ok. I was hit by a car when I was a kid on my bike. When my father got the phone call from the hospital they said could you get to the hospital right away? He said why? the girl said, Your son Brian was struck by a car and............. A pause for a while, and he was yelling and what! She was talking to a friend. He was maaaaad! It turns out, I only fractured my elbow which still clicks today. I got lucky. Your son was very lucky as well. It makes you cherrish every minute even more when you realize it could end in an instant.
