Good grief, even on vacation I can't stay away from peeking in here. Just a little report. Got here(Red River, NM) yesterday evening. This morning, a nice, cool 45 degrees, beautiful sunrise. Life is good!
HE HE, Now watch that 45 turn to 102 in about 3 hours. I've been living in the dessert way to long. Actually we had a beautiful day here yesterday. We went to a chicken swap for about 3 hours then had my daughters 18th birthday party in the late afternoon. It was a really good party. She is my youngest so I'm going through old man syndrome this morning. My back is hurting, that sort of stuff.
Enjoy your vacation.
No 102 here. This is about 9000 ft, a ski town in the winter. Average high this time of year is mid 70's. It was a warm 80 when we got here. Very low humidity, so for us Okies, this is great stuff!
First night here we saw new (to us) birds, (my daughter has made bird watchers of us), deer come down off the mountain and cross the river about 50 yards from where we are staying.
Wow, Paul! How Nice! 45 Degrees here is a "cold" January day. Yesterday, my wife did a little open air markets that ends at noon. Yesterday at noon, it was 102 degrees with 81 percent humidity. Then about 3 PM it got REALLY hot. 106 with 81 percent humidity.
Enjoy your vacation! I know I would in 45 degree weather. It is already unbearable here and it is only June. August will be miserable here. I can deal with the heat, but it is the humidity that is the real killer. When you step outside you go into "hypersweat" mode.
