Advice on clear casting

I think I'm going to try my hand at casting. What I want to do is clear cast over object such as snakeskin, carbon fiber, stamps, photos, cigar bands and that kind of thing. I'll probably do some colour stuff as well at some point.

What have you found to be the best stuff for clear casting?

silmar 41 clear polyester casting resin from UScomposites or illstreet

I like Silmar 41 also. I'm new to the casting scene, but good results so far.

You will need PR, not alumilite for clear casting those items.
