I decided the "bean density" was too high in that blank. I don't want it to look like its a pack of beans with the gaps filled with PR. I want it to look like a shiny PR pen with a few beans. Of course the beans want to float in the PR, so I poured a layer of PR (about 1/4" thick) and threw in a handful of beans. Waited for it to gel, then poured another layer and added another few beans. Repeat x3. Result:
The bottom layer looks to be a different colour. That's because it is. The first layer was clear - I figure that's going to get turned off anyway. I mixed up sufficient PR in one batch for the rest of the layers, so the colour would be consistent. I just catalysed it as I needed it.
As you can see, there are less beans per area, but still too many for me.
