Advantage direct or Amazon?

I am going to order a Grizzly bandsaw. A G0555. Is there any difference if i get it through Amazon or ordering it from Grizzly? The price is the same and so is the freight. I was going to drive out to Muncy and pick one up this morning but got to figuring it would be just as cheap to have it shipped. And its a 3.5 hr drive both ways. And we got 4 more inches of snow again last night. Thanks Rich H.

No advantage to you. I'm sure amazon has some deal with Grizzly to place their products on Amazon's site and take part of the sales (or maybe it's some sort of annual contract?). So I guess it just depends on who you want to support more.
 
If everything (cost) is the same, why would you want to involve a third party (Amazon)? Get it direct from Grizzly. Also, if you can wait, sometimes Grizzly has some free shipping deals on certain equipment. Check their website.

When I bought mine I picked it up, 3 hours each way but I was going there anyway.
 
Another thought...

If you go through Grizzly, you can get the "free gift". Granted it's only about a $5 "gift", but it's better than nothing.
 
If you have an Amazon Visa card, you get 3% of all purchases made at Amazon in the form of an Amazon Gift Coupon. I recently purchased an new Nikon D300s & lens from Amazon eventhough it was a few dollars higher because I got an additional $66 in Amazon gift coupons.

For the same price, I too would deal directly with the manufacturer.
 
Another thought, may or may not be applicable, but think about the warranty... it may be stronger if you buy direct from Grizzly and if you're having it shipped, even if you buy through Amazon, it will probably ship from Grizzly.
